The Parker Hannifin Foundation has awarded an $850,000 grant to the Professional Development Program in John Carroll University’s John M. and Mary Jo Boler School of Business. The Foundation’s commitment supports the University’s Forever Carroll Campaign, which will enrich the academic experience of John Carroll students.
Parker Hannifin is a longtime and generous supporter of John Carroll. This partnership will present even greater opportunities for collaboration by providing undergraduate students with the skills, confidence, and knowledge necessary to succeed in the 21st century workplace. The Professional Development Program includes networking and mentoring opportunities, which foster maturity and growth among JCU students.
“We are extremely grateful to Parker Hannifin for partnering with us to offer this exceptional program, which serves as a primer for professional growth and leadership,” said Karen Schuele, Ph.D., Dean of the Boler School of Business. “The grant will help provide John Carroll students with a competitive advantage upon graduation and entry into the workforce.”
“Parker has a long history of supporting higher education, and we are proud to partner with John Carroll University to further advance the quality of education in Northeast Ohio,” said Don Washkewicz, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Parker. “This grant is an investment in the development of future business, technology and community leaders.”
Parker Hannifin currently employs more than 50 John Carroll alumni. Parker is the second largest employer of John Carroll graduates and the University has the third highest number of alumni represented among Parker employees worldwide.
